Ricardo A. Nieves, M.D.
Dr. Ricardo A. Nieves is a Pain Medicine Specialist who hails from Fort Collins, CO and has been practicing for 27 years. Dr. Nieves is a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice and a Fellow of Interventional Spine, Musculoskeletal and Pain Medicine. He is quadruple Board Certified by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians; Board of Pain Medicine ABPMR/ABA; the American Board of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Nieves completed his Residency at Temple University Hospital/Moss Rehabilitation Hospital, and his Internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has received many honors and awards during his career. At the Universidad Del Turabo, he maintained a position on the Deans List, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He later received the Distinguish Ex-Alumni Award from his Alma Mater. Dr. Nieves held the Top 25% American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and graduated in the top 1/3rd of Medical School (Class of 1991) where he won the Searly & Co. Award for Most Outstanding Student in Science.
Being a long time participant in the field of martial arts, Dr. Nieves has a focus in Sports Medicine and Injuries. Holding a 3rd degree black belt in Judo, he has also served as a ringside physician for boxing and cage fighting matches.
